It’s Friday night (or Wednesday, or Monday) and it’s pizza night! The best “no cook” night of the week. Once that delivery box hits your door you smell the sauce, cheese, and warm crust. It’s just as delicious as it appears. Family pizza night is an easy way to get everyone gathered around the table sharing a meal and talking about their day. For older kids and adults, a salad can be a great way to add vegetables to the meal. Veggies add tons of flavor, not many calories, loads of fiber, and nutrients which keep our bodies healthy. When it’s time for family pizza night, instead of ordering from your favorite local shop, try having a DIY pizza night. It’s a great way to let everyone have their own healthy pizza ideas.

  • Try different proteins, like pre-cooked chicken, fish, steak, or even peanuts for a thai inspired pizza!

Pizza, especially when homemade, can be a great way to make healthy foods for kids. It’s easy to add new vegetables to a familiar food. Pizza is a great gateway food, opening the door to trying new foods.
